What US-Made Means
What “US-made” means here.
The phrase “US-made peptides” gets used loosely. At ICARUS Biologics it means the finished product: every vial is formulated, filled and lyophilized at cGMP facilities in California and South Carolina operating ISO 5 and ISO 7 cleanrooms.
The active ingredient (API) is sourced from FDA-registered green list facilities and imported, as it is for nearly every peptide manufactured in the US. We say that plainly because a supplier who claims otherwise should be able to show you the domestic synthesis records.
Why Brands Are Moving
Why research brands are moving to US supply.
Most research peptide brands have bought finished vials from overseas, much of it shipped direct from labs in China. That supply has become harder to rely on: shipments held at customs, suppliers that stop answering, long shutdowns around Chinese New Year, and lot-to-lot variation nobody can trace.
The bigger problem is what is in the vial. Brands that send imported vials out for testing never know whether a lot will come back with a good fill or fail the analysis outright. Independent testing of imported vials keeps turning up the same problems: mislabeled vials, fills far under or over the label, some with none of the labeled peptide at all, contamination, and certificates of analysis that are faked or copied from another lot.
Why imported vials fail their COAs. The same causes come up again and again:
| Failure | What happens |
|---|
| Fill error | Vials filled well under or well over the labeled milligrams, so the assay fails in either direction |
| Wrong or missing peptide | A different compound than the label states, or none of the labeled peptide at all |
| Low purity | Synthesis byproducts such as truncated or deletion sequences mixed in with the labeled peptide |
| Contamination | Endotoxin or microbial contamination from non-sterile filling, which purity-only certificates never test for |
| Fake or recycled COAs | Certificates copied across lots, edited, or attributed to a lab that never ran the test |
US finished-product manufacturing costs more per vial. What it buys is a fill you can count on, a lot-specific COA from an independent US laboratory, and a supply chain you can trace. See how to read a peptide COA.
FAQ
Common questions.
Are your peptides made in the USA?
The finished vials are made in the USA, at cGMP facilities in California and South Carolina. The API is sourced from FDA-registered green list facilities and imported, which is standard across the industry.
Are your peptides third-party tested?
Yes. Every lot of finished product is tested by an independent, ISO 17025 accredited US laboratory for identity and assay by HPLC, bacterial endotoxin and sterility.
Do I get a COA with every order?
Yes. A certificate of analysis is issued for every lot and ships with the order. The lot number on the COA matches the lot number on the vials.
Who do you sell to?
Research peptide brands, ecommerce brands, wholesale distributors and licensed medical practices. We do not sell to consumers.
